a prophetic word from on high
Sometimes I am a little bit proud of myself in a bad way for being mentally ill, and I talk about normal people in a way that does not give them credit for some of the burdens they bear. But I still think I will share a theory about people who have delusions of grandeur during manic episodes and especially more chronically in situations like schizophrenia. The thing I want to say is that no matter how grandiose people's delusions are, most people really are that great. People with and without mental illness are probably infinite and eternal, or at least could be if they wanted to. In that way, their wildest dreams are not a lie. When people say they are Jesus Christ, it is not the worst theology, and I think that a calling so extreme as mental suffering for a whole lifetime might make some people's most ridiculous claims of royalty actually still be an underestimation of not just their potential but the nobility of being here at all.
